Printer-friendly version

Work of the National Council and its working bodies is public. Public access may only be restricted or removed if the National Council or a working body so decides (Article 52 of the Act on the National Council). Sessions of the National Council and its commissions are public and may be directly observed by Slovene citizens.

Public nature of the National Council's work is also ensured through media coverage; all material related to sessions of the National Council and its working bodies is made available to the media (except for material of a confidential nature). Furthermore, the public is also notified of the work and events at the National Council through press conferences, reports, statements, websites, and the National Council's Gazette. Press conferences may be called by the President of the National Council on behalf of the National Council and by commission's chairmen and heads of interest groups on behalf of a commission or interest group.

Work of the National Council and its decisions are presented on websites, in the Rapporteur of the National Council of the Republic of Slovenia, and in the National Council's Gazette.
