He was born in 1977 in Kranj, where he grew up and currently resides. He is married and father of five children. Time spent with his family, short trips, and upbringing of children fills him with energy, which he requires for all his engagements and fast pace of life.
Education. After completed elementary school in Kranj he continued his education in Ljubljana. He graduated with honors from the Secondary School as a traffic technician. In 1999, he graduated from the Higher Education Professional School for Administration – track finance and taxation. He continued his studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences – track Defense Studies. In 2012, he obtained a master’s degree from the Faculty of Government and European Studies. He is currently completing his doctoral studies at the same Faculty.
Career. As early as when he was still a student, he engaged in various ‘student work’, for example carpentry, manufacturing production, door-to-door sales, commerce, food distribution, tutoring of mathematics, lecturer of traffic regulation, driving tutoring, etc. He started his first regular employment as the head of a commercial unit of a larger company in the field of traffic and traffic safety. His duties included leading the unit and issuing permits for extraordinary transport. Soon, he began to emerge as an entrepreneur. He became the owner and director of a driving school, which was at the time one of the largest in Slovenia. In August of 2013 he accepted the challenge of leading the Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Traffic Safety as the executive officer. In February 2015, he was appointed the director with a full five-year mandate.
Political activity. In 2002, he became the youngest member of the municipal council of the Municipality of Kranj with his independent and non-partisan organization Mladi za razvoj Kranja. He has been a member of the municipal council for four mandates, and remains a member today. During this period, his organization was renamed to Lista za razvoj Kranja. In all these years, he acquired a broad range of experience as a member of the city council, numerous boards, commissions, and councils of agencies. Between 2006 and 2010 he served as deputy-mayor of the Municipality of Kranj, which he executed as the youngest deputy-mayor of Kranj. Similarly, in December 2017 he became the youngest elected member of the National Council of the Republic of Slovenia, with a mandate of five years. He was elected as a representative of local interests of the 9th electoral unit, which includes municipalities Kranj, Škofja Loka, Tržič, Šenčur, Cerklje na Gorenjskem, Naklo, Žiri, Železniki, Gorenja vas-Poljane, Naklo, Preddvor and Jezersko.
Activities and spare time. His youth was characterized by football, and he continues to recreationally play today. After completing his football career, he worked as a football judge for some years. For almost 20 years he has also been a motorcyclist. He loves travelling, and one of his main wishes is a longer travel across the world. He sometimes plays his guitar, but more often heads to the mountains.
